Content marketing is more important today than ever before.
That’s not a gross exaggeration — 2020 completely changed the way consumers behave online when shopping and searching for information.
Never, in the history of the world, have there been SEVEN BILLION searches on Google happening every day.
As Google searches have increased, ad ROI has dropped to as low as .66x. Content marketing has had a record-high growth rate – 4x higher ROI than ads, if not more.
Inbound, website-focused content marketing works. SEO is 5x greater than PPC and 10x greater than social media.
Why is content marketing outperforming traditional marketing methods by such big margins?
The truth is, interruptive marketing is dying.
And our consumers know it, see it, smell it, breathe this truth.
The 2021 Edelman Trust Barometer revealed an all-time low in consumer trust in institutions and media.
Half-baked offers pushed through the typical sales funnel aren’t as effective as they used to be. Consumer just don’t trust them.
On average, buyers read three to five blog posts before ever speaking to a sales representative. They’re doing research and reading content before making a commitment to purchase.
This is why content is so critical to marketing success today and for the foreseeable future. It’s also why content marketing is on track to be worth more than $600 billion by 2024.
Having vital content marketing skillsets will not only help your business and brand become a dominant force of authority in the shifting market, but it will also drastically increase your value whether you’re freelancing or working for an employer.
Bosses and clients are going to be expecting YOU to know how to navigate this reshaped online world and create relevant content.
Are you prepared for this age?
Content marketing workshops are one of the best ways to develop these necessary skills.
TODAY, I just launched all-new content marketing workshops and am excited to welcome in ambitious and aspiring future content marketers. I’d love to see you there! Learn more about my all-new power-packed content marketing workshops.
The 3 Most Important Things to Look for in a Content Marketing Workshop
I’ve been a content marketer for a decade and an educator since 2017, so I’ve seen all of the gimmicks.
It’s hard to know who to trust.
That’s why I practice what I preach — I’ve made over $5M in sales from the inbound marketing growth of my businesses. I’ve taught and mentored over 500 students in my Content Hacker™ Academy, and I regularly update my flagship programs like The Content Strategy & Marketing Course for my students, who have lifetime access.
Back when I was building my workshops, I polled my audience for the trainings they needed the most. What I built and launched today was based on what they said they wanted.
Boom!
While we’re at it, let’s talk through the three must-have parts of a content marketing workshop you should be on the lookout for when deciding to invest in leveling up your skills.
Whether it’s my training or anyone else’s, these rules should apply to your investments in self-growth.
1. Your Content Marketing Teacher Should Be a Real-Life, Active Practitioner
A college degree is great, but a textbook only lasts so long in today’s fast-paced marketing space.
Ouch.
And nothing beats real-life experience and up-to-date knowledge of the industry, especially since new platforms, features, and methods change fast.
College professors who are teaching courses but not actively working in the field are often archaic or behind in digital skills. They might be able to teach you past trends, but what worked last year or even a few months ago probably isn’t the most effective method today.
This is why it’s so critically important to learn from someone who isn’t just going through the motions of reciting content marketing theory, which, by the way, you could probably find on YouTube for free and definitely shouldn’t be paying for.
For example: College doesn’t teach you how to post an Instagram reel and gain thousands of views within the hour. That comes from experience, and learning the skill.
Your content marketing teacher needs to know current trends, future forecasts, recent studies, and most importantly, understand the industry firsthand from their own trial and error.
I bring a decade of experience into each and every one of my workshops. Every skill I teach my students comes from the reservoir of lessons I’ve learned along my journey as a practicing content marketer and entrepreneur.
I speak from a place of experience and real-life perspective. The techniques I share are ones that I myself have implemented and developed with plenty of mistakes along the way until I found the right methods that worked.
And I don’t need to tell you that the skills I teach will work — the proof is in the success of my business. I started with only $75 and used these very skills to grow my agency into a company worth $5M.
I put my money where my mouth is, as every qualified content marketing teacher should be able to do.
2. Your Content Marketing Curriculum Needs to Be Hands-On & Have You Building
I’m a big believer in what Benjamin Franklin said: “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”
You shouldn’t be paying to watch someone lecture you about content marketing without ever giving you a chance to practice the lessons yourself.
You need to know what to do and how to do it, but you should also be given tools and templates to give you a real jumpstart.
The Cliff Notes version of a long, lengthy course on the topic. 💥
This is how I teach in my all-new Content Hacker™ Academy workshops, that just launched TODAY for enrollment.
In my brand-new content marketing workshops (AVAILABLE NOW!), my team and I recorded, edited, and produced powerful video tutorials that will teach you in-depth, actionable strategies in just ONE HOUR, with accompanying cheat sheets and templates you can immediately put to use.
Choose the skill you want to learn, and enroll.
Start watching the videos right away — every class is under an hour, with the hour-long videos broken down into short individual segments.
For example, the Learn to Write workshop is broken down into a 30-minute tutorial where you watch over my shoulder as I outline, research, and write an article for Entrepreneur.com from scratch.
Next, there’s a tutorial on how to properly source images, how to use AI in your writing, how to self-edit your content, how to write engaging headlines, and finally, the course wraps all of those topics together in a 10-minute guided writing exercise.
That’s all baked into JUST ONE workshop. Enroll today!
Each one of the classes are structured similarly, although each will vary slightly to best serve the right skill-building education on the topic.
For example, you’ll learn how to delegate and hire in the Agency and Entrepreneur Business Setup workshop.
Not only that, but you’ll get my internal pricing sheet templates, my pitching templates (that I wrote myself to reel in five-figure accounts!), and video tutorials on how to use ALL of this to build your own services-based, money-making business. Use this to build a $5M business! The sky is the limit. Enroll today.
I’ve even invited a few guest experts, too.
In the Freelancer Business Setup Training workshop, I’ve invited expert Elna Cain to teach alongside me and show you how to set up a successful freelance business — from scratch. 💥 She went from working as a teacher to a full-time freelancer in just six months, and is making $250+ per pop to write a single blog now. She’s worth listening to and learning from.
In my powerful workshop How to Build a Website, you’ll learn how to delegate and have a great WordPress website built for you, including all my secrets of building and launching so many websites.
In the Content Marketing for Ecommerce workshop, you’ll do hands-on keyword research to find your own ecommerce SEO keywords with me, in a 30-minute tutorial. Plus, you’ll get my exact templates for writing SEO copy for ecommerce product descriptions and blogs linked to ecommerce products.
Choose the skill you want to learn, and enroll!
3. You Should Have Access to Your Content Marketing Teacher in Private Groups
This is how to separate the best content marketing workshops from the subpar ones.
Once the workshop is over, you should still have access to your teacher.
But this is not often given.
Most in-person content marketing workshops give you access to a teacher for one or two hours and then that’s it — you’re done, and they’re no longer a resource after the class.
But, enrolling in a virtual content marketing workshop can (and should) give you access to continue leaning on your teacher as a lifelong mentor and continue networking with other students who enrolled in the program. This gives you the extra advantage of:
- Learning from each other’s experiences
- Talking about what worked (or didn’t) for you
- Discussing trends and forecasts
- Asking for advice
- Sharing new ideas and getting feedback
- Relying on connections for interviews, job connections, and more
When you enroll in any Content Hacker™ Academy workshops, you’ll get immediate access to the workshop itself, plus a private student group with the ability to vote on a day and time so you and your class can meet LIVE for an hour-long Q&A with me. Yes, that’s included along with the workshop cost!
If you get a ton of good from the one-hour training (my goal!) and want to listen to your workshop again and again, the good news is — you have lifetime access, so you sure can. 🎉
I recommend downloading the Teachable app so you can listen and re-listen on mobile. The Teachable mobile app can be found in the App Store or Google Play and is very user friendly. Put those earbuds in and listen several times. You have lifetime access to the video content in these workshops!
